The Kipp Crawford Memorial Endowment Fund

Kipp Crawford
Kipp Crawford, son of Vern and Jean Crawford and a 1996 graduate of Ashland High School, was killed at the age of 31 as a result of a tragic accident in Portland, Oregon. Kipp was born in Ashland, and at the age of 11 began drum lessons, becoming a skilled drummer who followed that passion into a professional life of music and studio recording. Kipp embraced music, particularly jazz, and shared that love with those around him.

The Kipp Crawford Memorial Endowment Fund was established to create enriching opportunities for jazz musicians in the Ashland Schools. In the fall of 2010, ASF garnered enough donations to create a permanent endowment in Kipp's name that support jazz and band at AHS in perpetuity. In 2018, the AHS Band program established The Ashland Jazz Festival as a vehicle to bring jazz musicians to the school to work with talented students from throughout the valley. The event culminates in public concerts to share their musicianship and to raise funds for the Endowment. See for current band info.

Donations will continue to be added into the endowment to increase the amount of income available for grants each year. The Ashland Schools Foundation is honored to create this fund in Kipp’s name in hopes that other students may be inspired to expand their music and follow in Kipp’s generous footsteps.
