ASF Grants to Schools:   2004-05 School-year

 

At the HIGH SCHOOL –   $89,295

 

§        Hired teachers for extra sections of Literature, Philosophy & AP English. 

§        Funded a Math Lab class

§        Provided funds for the Japanese and Spanish language programs.

§        Provided College Counseling.

§        Provided Science lab assistants for Science classes.

§        Presented a Signature Grant to the Drama Dept. 

§        Presented a Signature Grant to the Fine Arts Dept.

§        Presented a Signature Grant to fund a Student-Peer Tutoring Center

§        Funded seven Impact Grants to classrooms for enrichment activities.

 

At the MIDDLE SCHOOL & WILLOW WIND CLC  -   $62,137

 

§       Funded a full-time Health teacher.

§       Signature Grants allowing all 8th graders to participate in a high ropes course experience,  7th graders in a mid-height ropes course experience, and 5th graders transitioning to AMS a facilitated team-building day with their new teams.

 

§       Signature Grant to the AMS Drama program.

§       Awarded a Signature Grant at Willow Wind for the Resource Center.

§        Funded six Impact Grants to AMS classrooms and seven Impact Grants to Willow Wind classes for enrichment activities.

 

At the ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS -  $97,659

 

 

§        Increased a school specialist’s time at each elementary school by 50% allowing them more time in the classrooms.

§        SOU Education Assistants Program put more aides in the classrooms.

§        Signature Grant for Artists-in-Residence in each elementary school.

§        Funded sixteen Impact Grants to classrooms for enrichment activities. 

 

PLUS - $20,500 for the following special funds:

 

§        Purchasing new textbooks and curricular materials for the Global Studies Classes at   Ashland High School through the Buy-in for Books program.

§        Assisting with purchase of sound systems for the AMS Band and Orchestra rooms through the Lois Jenkins memorial fund.

§       Technology assistance throughout the district.

 

TOTAL - $269,591 of support to Ashland Schools
