$240,000 RAISED (so far!) TOWARDS THE 2009-10 ANNUAL FUND DRIVE!
Due to the faltering economy, the Ashland School District has been forced to cut $4.3 million in programs and people from the 2009-10 school year. The Ashland Schools Foundation board, feeling that literacy is the strongest skill that students can possess to make them successful in school, has chosen to focus our support on Literacy and Libraries in the next school year. The first $275,000* raised will be devoted to support this initiative throughout all of the schools. Once this goal has been reached, ASF will begin restoring programs and staff in the schools.
Just $35,000 to go before restoration can begin!
It’s not too late for you to help! We encourage you to make a donation to support Literacy and Libraries through ASF. You can also support the schools through your shopping dollars! Go to “Shop to Support” to discover how easy it is to support when you shop at no cost to you!
MATCHING DONATION FUND GOAL ACHIEVED!
Through the generosity of a pool of donors, ASF had a $42,000 matching fund available to match all “new money” donated in the first month of our fund drive – all new donations and the increased portions of returning donations were eligible to be matched, but had to be received by May 4. We’re happy to report that the goal was achieved on the final day! Thanks to all of you who got your donation in by the deadline to help us earn the entire matching fund.
